I really liked this book, definitely a keeper for me. Very funny and sweet. The potty training issues I could absolutely relate to... Makes me interested in reading more books by Susan Donovan, well written and entertaining

This one pretty much lost me after the unpotty-trained kid showed up. Well maybe not that early but it wasn't long after. For me TKW just felt a little too predictable for me to get in to. I don't mind predictable every once and awhile, but I had a hard time staying with this one.
The send up is fun. What girl doesn't day dream at least once in her life about being a "kept woman". No worries over money and the time to do whatever we want- without a boss breathing down our neck?
Throw in a sexy RICH man, who of course just happens to fall madly in love with her AND who's good in the sack and you got the stuff heaven is made from.
The sensual heat between these two was steamy enough- Jackie boy had the MOVES baby!- Unfortunately Donovan needed to throw in something more to sweeten the book for me. Perhaps an engaging plot?

Samatha Monroe is a single mother raising three children, two teens and a potty chalenged three year old. She and her friend Monty both work at a hair stylist and every month go out for Drinks and Depression Night. One time during D and D night Sam says that she wouldnt mind being a kept woman and that gives Kat an itea.
Kat is a friend who goes to Sam to have her hair done, and she also works for Jack Tolliver who is running for Congress. There was a scandal the last time he ran and having a fience on his arm would look good.
Sam and Jack come up with a plan, Jack will pay Sam to be his fience for the campaign so that they both get what they want. There are only two problems, one a vindictive ex of Jack's works as a political comentator on T.V and will do anything to prove that Sam and Jacks relationship is fake (including tracking down Sam's now gay ex) and two is that there is a whole lot of sparks between Sam and Jack and their relationship soon goes from fake to very real.

I was browsing in a bookstore and thumbing through books, reading the back covers and maybe a few pages and then putting them back on the shelf and moving on. Then, like a gem hidden among a bunch of ordinary stones, I found this book. I bought it and while riding the train home I started reading it. I walked in the house and sat down and read it. I skipped dinner, never turned on the tv, stayed up way beyond my bedtime and just kept reading until the very last page (sob!). Loved the plot, loved the characters, loved the humor and the romance. First thing I did in the morning was call a friend and say, "You have to read this book!"
